Abraham and the Investment Banker
An Investment banker was walking through desert and came to a camp of nomads. While approaching the camp he saw a man among a flock of sheep. The Investment Banker said hello to the man who introduced himself as Abraham. The Investment Banker complimented the man on the quality of his flock and asked how long it took to aquire such a herd.
Abraham replied, only a little while.
The Investment Banker then asked why didn't he get a larger flock.
Abraham said he had enough to support his family's immediate needs.
The Investment Banker then asked, "but what do you do with the rest of your time?"
Abraham said, "I sleep late, play with my children, nap with my wife, Sarah, stroll among the camp visiting where I sip wine and tell stories, I have a full and busy life."
The Investment Banker scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you.You should spend more time making your flock larger and with the proceeds, buy some land rather than drifting about. With the proceeds from the land you could buy a larger ranch and larger flocks and branch out into other livestock, eventually you would have a large enterprise with thousands of acres and hundreds of employees. You would be selling thousands of livestock each year. Instead of selling your inventory to individuals you would sell directly to the processor then eventually opening your own meat processing facility. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this desert and move to a larger city, and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."
Abraham asked, "But, how long will this all take?"
To which the Investment Banker replied, "15-20 years."
"But what then?"
The Investment Banker laughed and said that's the best part."When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions."
"Millions. Then what?"
The Investment Banker said, "Then you would retire. Move to the quiet and beautiful desert where you can sleep late, play with your children, nap with your wife, Sarah, stroll among the camp visiting where you can sip wine and tell stories."
While I was scanning through books in the library, I found this amazing article. Its awesome and truly speak of what an i-banker can do.

Literature is as rich a teacher as science, but merely differs in technique. Literature takes us into peoples' minds, science takes their minds and categorizes them. This is why literature will always be perceived as being more human, because it relates to emotions rather than to logic, and humans are creatures of emotion. Science cannot describe these emotions.
The aim of science is to find out and explain the properties and structure of objects. But literature, on the other hand, focuses on stimulating and understanding of everyday life. It is a means of gaining culture and enriching our knowledge in different areas of activity. It can help us to have a great imagination and it makes things easier when it comes to making compositions on different themes. It gives us the possibility to speak about science, even if we don't work in this domain, or we can express our opinion about a political aspect, just because we have read something connected to that. It offers us the possibility to enter the world of imagination, and to leave apart the real one for a couple of hours. We come to meet kings and queen, epochs many years ago, dream in the world of the rich or imagine how life will be in the future. It gives us the possibility to be another character in the story we read, to judge it from our perspective, to imagine the ending of it. Sometimes, we identify ourselves with the characters in the stories we read and they can give us some clues to solve our problems and how to react in certain circumstances. Books are inspired from reality because even if authors are considered to be somehow different from common people, they are in fact preoccupied by the same problems as we all are and suffer like us, too. Literature is said to be the mirror of the society. If we know how society operated in the past, it is due to the literature of the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Romantics, and even today, literature portrays social phenomena, politics or new ideologies.
To conclude with, I would like to say that literature is the perfect means to enrich our culture, to express correctly and have a rich vocabulary, to be able to interfere in conversations in different fields of interest and to really be considered an erudite person.

The man from earth...a movie which was shown to us as a part of our Business Ethics assessment procedure. anyone reading this blog will think, what type of assessment is this??? but for those who have attended the course, they will know what exactly this means.
now, let me focus on some of the aspects of the movie which i found pretty interesting. after some time, when the relevance of the title (of movie) began, i was thinking "what a crap this movie is"? but i had got faith on the instructor because of my past experience with him during the course.
then, the real experience began. a movie about a man who has seen the history, survived the present and is going to live the future. not at all possible. but that was it. it was like a "bina sir, haath paav ki hindi movie jisme kabhi bhi kuchh bhi ho sakta hai..." but as i began to sunk myself into the movie, i found a lot of messages which it gave not directly but indirectly. this i found very interesting and this was what i learned from the movie.
you should be living in time because once its gone, its gone forever. try to learn, feel, experience and live time as much as you can because time once lost is lost forever. it will never come back to you. and as time passes, your previous moments might become your cherished memories or your nightmares.
the world initially was bigger and bigger but as time passes, it becomes smaller and smaller. truly reflected in today's world. when i was young, my family and my home was the only known world to me. the rest was like a huge place. now the world has shrunked to a 14" machine where i get everything that i want. the concept of "boundryless organisation" is aptly applied to this big and small world of internet.
but, we should always move on in life. every experience gives us a learning and we should learn and move on. thats what life is. if we are sticked to only one thing, we are always engrossed with, our life will be screwed. as is said by a hindi author, agyeya; "behta paani nirmal hota hai...thehre huye paani mein keede lag jaate hain..." thats what life is.
there is no way we can prove or disprove of what we have gone through. it is always only "our own experience"... it always come like waves... WHOOOSSSSHHHH.....and the next moment its gone...
always have faith in yourself. that will only give you strength and experience to
"MOVE ON"...
i am ending this post with only one line to say...
"nothing lasts forever, we are only here today..."

"LONLINESS"
this is something which i often felt so one day, i thought to pen down my feelings...last month, i was to shift my hostel room and i was packing my stuff when i found it in one of my old diaries and some past scenes flashed in front of my eyes...i am not a poet but this is just the reflection of my feelings after an incident my life...
Lonliness...This Lonliness
why have i stumbled on the path of love...
all my dreams lie shattered...
a sense of gloom lies heavy...
every joy is numbed
my very life is lost
i am being punished for loving you...
this LONLINESS...
lonliness stretches over miles & miles...
in my dream, i saw a hand in my hand
now, i am blinded by the shards of a shattered dream
someone was here yesterday...
but today, there is no one
like a serpent's venomous hiss, it envelopes my very breath...
this LONLINESS...
lonliness stretches over miles & miles...
oh! how could my hope for something be so futile
i've embarked on a journey to which there is no destination
where should i go?
to whom shall i explain???
what i had wanted
and why i have ended up with...
this LONLINESS...
this lonliness...like stretches of darkness
lonliness stretches over miles & miles...
"BOATMAN..."
as a child, I made a paper boat...
and set it sail in a little stream...
the stream merged into the river...
the river merged into the ocean...
OH BOATMAN!! have you seen my paper boat?
OH BOATMAN!! have you seen my paper boat?
is the paper boat still sailing?
the blue paper boat...
that was sailing to the tune of the waves...
carrying the passion of the ocean...
and carrying this song for you...
on a burnt out afternoon...
in a red shining ocean...
carrying all my dreams...
my boat made of paper...
OH BOATMAN!! have you seen my paper boat?
is it still sailing?
carrying all my dreams...
my boat made of paper
and set it sail in a little stream...
the stream merged into the river...
the river merged into the ocean...
